Why bother?  I don't think you can glom files from one CVS database into
another.  There's no point in keeping this level of compatibility, so you
might as well switch to the modernized alternative before you gain many
revisions.  (Ironically, I think that SVN _does_ allow some degree of
cross-database glomming.)
