the xml serializer used by boost serialization is implemented with
spirit and is part of the xml_iarchive class. One can use the
library to create variations on existing archives.
On the other hand - it is generally not successful to attempt
to use boost serialization to match some external format as
boost serialization is driven by the C++ code which defines
the data structures and there is no way go guarentee that this
is the same as some external format. In some special cases
this might be done.
