Agreed.

I find that any slight delays from gmail's web interface are more than
compensated for by the lack of startup latency from downloading a few
dozen emails I'm not going to read. The keyboard controls in it are
sufficient to quickly allow me to archive the messages I won't read,
and the interface is sufficiently responsive.
