But the meaning of 'dependent' is the opposite from 'prerequisite', isn't it ?
If A depends on B, B is a prerequisite library. 'prerequisite' is an adjective,
while 'dependency' isn't.
(How foolish am I to argue with *you* about English ? ;-) )
