Hmm - I tried to generate the docu for Boost:thread -> same result: additional chars added to the code.
I've tested it on two LINUX (Debian/Lenny) systems.
Maybe my ~/user-config.jam is wrong?

using xsltproc ;

using boostbook
    : /usr/share/xml/docbook/stylesheet/nwalsh
    : /usr/share/xml/docbook/schema/dtd/4.2
    ;

using doxygen ;

using quickbook
    : /usr/local/bin/quickbook
    ;
