It's not as ominous as you are making out.
"Committed" means that they have agreed to participate - that's all.
They will be looking at trac tickets during the next 10 days.
[ They may be doing other stuff (sleeping, etc ;-)), but they will 
spend some time looking at Trac tickets ]
