If I remember correctly, one of our concern last summer (when looking at
various GSoC submissions) was that the proposals should be structured in
a way to increase the likelihood of the result to be self-contained and
complete, to make it easy to integrate into boost.
In that respect I would really prefer to see a formal submission for a
boost.unicode library as a result of this rather sooner than later, and
happily trade features against time of delivery. There have been many
attempts to get proper Unicode support into boost, most of which stalled
at some point or other when the author got busy with other things. Let's
not do this error again.
