[boost] encryption?

I recall a few threads on the subject of a fledgling Boost Encryption
library, but haven't seen anything about it recently.  Could someone
update me on this?  I've used OpenSSL enough to desire a C++
alternative.  (Imagine some existing Boost libs written in C.)
