a little late but FWIW it builds ok on:

ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32bit + gcc 4.5.1
vista 32bit + msvc9

builds with a few errors (mainly in Boost.Thread) on
vista 32bit + cygwin + gcc 4.5.1

the output of ./bjam -j 2 from all three runs can be found here:
