Perhaps Boost.Timer could be designed now to be consistent with Boost.Stopwatch later, without including suspend() now or making breaking changes later. That would provide simplicity now and compatibility later if (when) Boost.Stopwatch is accepted. (I'm looking for middle ground, if possible. I haven't looked at the suspend/resume versus start/stop semantics in Stopwatch to see whether they are a good fit for Timer.)
