Ok; downloading gcc 4.7 to build and try.
The routine that gcc is complaining about "not having a return", btw is:
BOOST_CONSTEXPR const_reference operator[](size_type i) const
{
return BOOST_ASSERT_MSG( i < N, "out of range" ), elems[i];
}
