It looks like someone changed the tag at some point. Luckily, I still
have the old tag in my fork:

https://github.com/danieljames/uuid/tree/boost-1.55.0

So you can do something like:

git fetch https://github.com/danieljames/uuid.git boost-1.55.0
git tag old-boost-1.55.0 8c395a888c2d77bdc91e956ef24a07c0c87cdd24
git push origin old-boost-1.55.0

I think that will work.

For what it's worth 1.55.0 was the last subversion release. It might
be a bit odd in git - the headers mechanism isn't set up, and there
are a few line ending problems at least. So a subversion checkout
might be more useful:
