The Windows/Visual Studio builds looked good, however when trying to link
the libraries the automatic lib name detection failed.

I see:

fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_65.lib'

When the actual library file generated by the build is
