I think that formalizing news feed into generic objects, having support for
some standards could be beneficial.
After all we saw a lot of discussions around XML, json, etc...

I'm not very well versed into news feed technology, but my guess is that it
could be somehow generalized to many types of news feed, push stream, or
whatever the name they have.

RSS being quite an important part on the Internet, I'm sure a foundation
library to implement clients on top of it would be great. Then maybe with a
bit of a generalization, the same concepts could be applied to any sort of
news feed.

Just my 2 cents, really.
