1. No server side extensions are needed. It's a static website.
2. Standard HTML5 is generated throughout. It (very slightly) fails
validation currently due to using <center>, but I'll be upgrading to the
latest release of the theme after the review which should fix that.
It ticks all the mandatory boxes in the requirements you link to.
