Ahhh - perhaps this is the crux of the issue.  I look at the following 
and see them as very similar rather than very different.  So naturally I 
see them as just specialized versions of a more general thing.  To one 
who disagrees with this view, my proposal will lack merit.  I think we 
can agree on this.
