Contributing to Boost. Astronomy

Hello,
         I want to get started in contributing to Boost. Astronomy. Could
anyone help me out here? This is the first time I will be contributing to
open source. Hence I don't have any idea how this works. I am proficient in
C and C++ and have a keen interest in Astronomy. Could anyone tell me what
all things I need to learn first before I am able to contribute? What
documentation should I read or what issues should I be aware of, before I
can start contributing? Any help would be appreciated.
