Good news... I just downloaded the newest version of the Windows 
xsltproc (libxml, libxslt, etc.) build 
<http://www.zlatkovic.com/pub/libxml/> and tried it with a local 
project. And hooray, it fixes the directory creation bug! So we can now 
all enjoy the increased speed and bug fixes of the latest xsltproc :-) 
And...

Many, many, did I say many... Thanks to Roland for pushing the patches 
through on this!
