It's producing invalid xml for =\<= in syntax_perl.qbk, which causes
the post-processor to fail (it requires valid markup). I'll should be
able to fix that in trunk today, too late for the beta though. I
implemented escapes in simple markup, but I think will break some of
the regex documentation, so I think I'll have to put a version switch
on that.
