cvs access problems

This happened to me twice: $ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.boost-sandbox.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/boost-sandbox login Logging in to :pserver:anonymous@cvs.boost-sandbox.sourceforge.net:2401/cvsroot/boost-sandbox CVS password: # I hit enter cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.boost-sandbox.sourceforge.net(66.35.250.209):2401 failed: Connection timed out Am I doing something wrong (like needing to open up a port in my firewall), or is this just a momentary sourceforge lapse? I've gotten cvs stuff from elsewhere (including other sf projects, I think), so I doubt it's my setup.

The second paragraph reads "A further goal is to establish "existing practice" and provide reference implementations so that Boost libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. Ten Boost libraries will be included in the C++ Standards Committee's upcoming C++ Standard Library Technical Report as a step toward becoming part of a future C++ Standard." The hypertext link for C++ Standards Committee' is http://anubis.dkuug.dk/jtc1/sc22/wg21/. That page still exists, but redirects you to http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/. It would probably be good to change the link. Is there a better place to report this? I don't see any web site contact on the page.

BGL transitive reduction algorithm?

I've been looking at the BGL headers and documentation looking for a templated algorithm to compute the transitive reduction of a directed graph and I don't see anything. Am I missing something obvious, showing my total lack of experience in graph theory, or is this algorithm not in BGL yet?

It seems as if indexed_set.hpp has a definition hiding in it somewhere. Heterogeneous binary buffers.

Hi Boosters. I recently started working on a class which provides the functionality of any other binary buffer and a bit more (which is why I do it ;)). Because the content of this buffer is not homogeneous regarding the type of the elements stored in it I have this more general question: Which type should I choose to be the basis for those buffers? Building boost under mingw: bjam invokes VC7?? (part II: typo cor rected)

Oops, sorry, Ben and Heinquoi- that was a typo :P What I *meant* to say was: Starting bjam with: bjam -sTOOLS=mingw install causes bjam to invoke VC7 instead of gcc. Same thing if quotes are used (as described in the documentation: bjam "-sTOOLS=mingw" install I ran it again, making sure that I actually used -sTOOLS and not -sTOOL, and I still see the described behavior. Again, this is using boost 1.31.0, msys and mingw on Windows 2000, and a prebuilt version of bjam recently downloaded from sourceforge. I might be missing the point here, but I have built Boost under mingw using TOOLS=gcc and I seem to get satisfactory results. I have not actually built the regression tests, so there might be some lurking issues that I am not aware of.

TR: pb with use Random on VC++6 and Intel C++ 8

Hello, I install and test boost on my computer since two weeks. And I have much problems. And, the error messages on intel c++ 8 are : Compiling... The compiler don't accept surcharge of template class. Perhaps there is an option for the compiler. What do you think about this ? After this problem, I test with msvc++6 sp5 + service pack processor 5 and... David- When you asked me to run the following lines: bjam -f- "-sTOOLS=mingw" install ECHO $(TOOLS) ; ^Z I see the following: bjam -f- "-sTOOLS=mingw" install (hundreds of lines of error text go by here) ECHO $(TOOLS) ; reply is: sh: ./TOOLS: is a directory ...and nothing is displayed after entering ctrl-Z :) The reply to ECHO $(TOOLS) ; seems odd. I doubt that this is what you were expecting. There *is* a 'tools' directory under boost_1_31_0, but not a 'TOOLS' directory. Case-sensitivity issues? I have also run the following: bjam -d+5 "-sTOOLS=mingw" install > bug.out Note that not everything is captured in 'bug.out'. I see hundreds of lines of the following on the console: The system cannot find the path specified. This is not surprising as I don't have VC7 installed.
