Binding to a static member function?

I'm trying to figure out the correct syntax for boost::bind-ing a static member function with some arguments preset. For example: ============================ struct Foo { static double go(int x, int y) { return x + y; } } typedef ... functortype; functortype f = boost::bind(&Foo::go, _1, boost::constant(3)); f(3); ============================ The actual code I have is a little different; I've simplified it as the above example. At compile time, the compiler complains that it can't find a matching call for 'f(3)'. Any ideas? I can post the complete example, obviously, if that's necessary. Is my syntax for the bind statement correct? Hello group, I am using VS6 on Windows2000 and soon .NET2005. So we are planning to migrate to boost 1.33.1 first with VS6 and move all our application to VS8 (including boost). So, I am in the process of writing an installation / migration procedure of boost for our "3rd party manager". In summary, I want to do : 1- build boost with the right toolset 2- build regression tool 3- run regression tests of boost 4- validate regression result with boost specification from http://engineering.meta-comm.com/boost.aspx 5- integrate the newly compiled boost in our application 6- correct compilation error if any change where made in the public interface 7- run our application regression test 8- submit to our version control system I am having hard time to do all this :) So : 1- I want to know your opinion about this. Does it seems like a good practice? 2- I am unable to build the regression tools with VS6. Is It normal? Am I missing something? 3- I am unable to find a boost 1.33.1 regression test. Only Head, 1.33.0 or before? 4- Does the result on my PC should be the same then the one posted on boost site? It seems like it might be different. By analysing http://engineering.meta-comm.com/boost-regression/1_33_0/developer/summary.… discovered that for the same toolset we can have different results (goncalo-vc8 and RudbekAssociates have different results for vc-8_0 toolset) It is normal? Decompression Problem

Hi All, I'm trying to decompress only a fragment of an input stream. I tried using boost::iostreams::copy() by passing in a value for the buffer_size parameter. Here's a code example of what I was trying to do: filtering_stream<input> in; in.push(gzip_decompressor()); // 'istr' is an istrstream holding the compressed data. in.push(istr); // I was hoping this would copy only the first 4 decompressed bytes!! boost::iostreams::copy(in, cout, 4); However, when I execute this, the copy() algorithm copies all decompressed data, ignoring my 'value' of 4. Perhaps I've misread the documentation? Anyway, I'm not sure if this is the correct approach to solve the problem, or even if there is a solution using boost. Any suggestions would be helpful. boost::pp application

hi, I would like to ask if there is a way boost::preprocessor may be used to solve the following problem: The problem is to define a macro that expands to the concatenation of their arguments, without duplicates. The arguments are symbols belonging to a known alphabet. For example, one possible solution for a macro which can take 3 symbols from the alphabet (A,B,C), would be #define RemoveDuplicates(S1,S2,S3) S1 ## S2 ## S3 #define AAA A #define AAB AB #define ABA AB #define ABB AB #define BAA AB #define BAB AB #define BBA AB #define BBB B In my real problem I have an alphabet of 10 symbols, which would be solved similarly with 10^10 #defines instructions, which is too much for the c++ preprocessor. So finally, is there any way boost::preprocessor can help me on this? [serialization] STATIC_ASSERTION_FAILURE on archive load

I've read over the compile time trap section of the docs, but I still can't get my serialization code to compile. The code to save my std::map compiles, but the code to load the map asserts on the compile. As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything wrong (save with const ref, load with non-const ref). Compilation problems from a ublas newbie

Hi all, I tried to compile the 2D point morph example from http://elonen.iki.fi/code/tpsdemo/2d-morph.cpp and http://elonen.iki.fi/code/tpsdemo/ludecomposition.h with the latest Boost 1.33.1 but I come across two errors. These seem to be related to the use of iterators with ublas::matrix_row and ublas::matrix_column. As a Boost newbie, the errors are not at all intuitive to me, however. I assume that the code above was generated for an older version of Boost and fails to compile now. I would be deeply grateful if you could consider taking a look at the attached the compiler output in the out.txt file. I appreciate your help very much.
