If I comment out the "try ... catch" block which uses the boost::propram_options library then it compiles and works fine. Please show me how to fix it. Thank you.

boost::filesystem exception not caught on MacOS X

Hi, I have a strange problem that an exception thrown by a boost::filesystem directory_iterator is not caugth on MacOS X. Please consider the following code: ("const string &dir" is a parameter) bool retVal = true; try { directory_iterator i(dir); directory_iterator end; while (i != end) { // do something ++i; } } catch (...) { retVal = false; } While this works perfectly on Windows and Linux (the exception is caught fine), on MacOS I get the following: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::filesystem::basic_filesystem_error<boost::filesystem::basic_path<std::string, boost::filesystem::path_traits> >' what(): boost::filesystem::basic_directory_iterator constructor Abort trap The program runs fine (withouth the trap) if I comment out the upper lines. I use the boost 1.34.0 lib built as universal binary on MacOS 10.5, according to the instructions at http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/wiki/CMakeConfigAndBuild I link to the static non-debug mt version of boost_filesystem. Exceptions within my program are caught fine, just this boost exception is not caught. The program is also compiled as non-debug. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards, Lothar

Boost Graph Library and Boehm Garbage Collector

Hello I am having trouble to garbage-collect adjacency_list<>. I have instanciated it with correctly garbage-collected vectors and lists (I have copied vecS and listS definitions, and added Boehm GC's default allocator so that they are garbage-collected). In my application I need to dynamically allocate many graphs, but it does not work, there is a (big) memory leak. Unfortunately, there is no template argument in adjacency_list<> to specify Boehm GC's allocator. Does anyone have a hint ? Simply including boost/bind.hpp causes compilation error

Hi, Using Boost.Test version 1.35.0, we have run into the following bug http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/1723 Is there an easy way to work around or fix this problem in Boost 1.35.0 (such as a patch), so we are not forced to upgrade to the SVN version of Boost.Test? Unfortunately, not starting a sub process is not an option, because it is not our software that starts the sub process but some additional library that we use. In case we have to upgrade to the SVN version of Boost, is there a recent SVN revision or tag that you would consider stable and recommend for use? What should I do to switch my legacy application to use boost smart pointers

Hi, I have a legacy application in C++, and I would like to switch it to use boost smart pointers. Can you please tell me what is the best approach for the switch? This application uses stl vector as the class container, vector<MyClass*> function which takes in MyClass* void f1(MyClass* aMyClass) { ...} function which returns MyClass* MyClass* f1() { return new MyClass(); } I am thinking just global replace all MyClass* with MyClassPtr And then put in a common .h file typedef MyClassPtr shared_ptr<MyClass> Will this approach work? Thank you for any tips.

Hi! I am looking for the latest and greatest working version of proto and especially the proto docs in pdf and/or html. Where can I find it and when will it be included into boost? Btw.: Is there a canonical place where accepted libraries can be found *with generated docs*? Actually I have no svn access due to a firewall ... Thanks for any extra support. Markus

[Graph] depth_first_search and specifying the edge order

boost on apple gcc 4.2

Hi, Has anyone successfully used boost with the "new" apple gcc 4.2? I would like to since gcc42 has openmp, but I cant seem to be able to use boost. I compiled and installed boost with apple gcc 4.2 by directly using bjam with --toolset=darwin-4.2. When I try to use it I get an error (detailed output of gcc below) which hints towards problems with inline assembly. Actually, to get it compiled at all I had to set -fasm-blocks. Am I missing a flag of sorts? Or is it "just" another woe with apple's modified assembler?
