boost file system, copy directories, create directory structure

With boost 1.39 file system, is it possible to copy directories . ie recursive copy likewise given a path, need a way of creating the directories ? Could have missed this, but could not find such functionality in boost file system -- Best regards, Ta, Avi

Hi, I am using gcc version 4.3.0 and /lib64/libc-2.8.so on fedora 9, is it stable to use std::vector and std::map to contain shared_ptr<MyObject> MyObjectPtr? I've got libc.so Segmentation fault while accessing vector and map contain MyObjectPtr. Thank you. Kind regards, Jupiter

[property_tree] utf8 and others

Hi, I'm playing with new boost library property_tree. And I have several questions regarding it. 1) Suppose there is xml file with utf8 encoding. What is the best way to populate it into wptree? 2) How can I save wptree into xml file with utf8 encoding. Unfortunately write_xml requires wostream. 3) Is there something like map operator[]? I.e. I need the following behavior: wptree & something(some_path) { boost::optional<wptree &> child = my_tree.get_child(some_path); if(child) return child.get(); else return my_tree.put_child(some_path); } Best Regards, Sergei

default value of program options

Hi I m using program options classes to handles command line arguments (Boost version 1.35, Debian lenny packages). Boost 1.41 compile error with gcc 4.2.4 on Solaris Sparc

Hi, I have a problem to compile Boost 1.39 or 1.40 ro 1.41 on Solaris Sparck with gcc 4.2.4. I am tried to compile with bjam and witj Cmake but I will get the same assembler message about illegal operands error. I noticed that when I defined BOOST_SP_USE_PTHREADS everything compiled fine until I tried to compile my software using Boost. Then I got the same assembler message about illegal operands. Do You have any advice? Boost iostreams bzip2/zlib autolink problem

Hello, I am using the boost iostreams with the bzip2 qnd zlib filters. I built boost according to the directions here: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_40_0/libs/iostreams/doc/installation.html This created the following libraries in the boost/stage/lib directory: libboost_bzip2-vc90-mt libboost_bzip2-vc90-mt-1_40 libboost_bzip2-vc90-mt-gd libboost_bzip2-vc90-mt-gd-1_40 libboost_zlib-vc90-mt libboost_zlib-vc90-mt-1_40 libboost_zlib-vc90-mt-gd libboost_zlib-vc90-mt-gd-1_40 now, here is the problem.. on every machien I usually do this on, it "autolinks" these libraries.. I have just started to build my code on a new machine, and for some reason it is not autolinking them. So to get my code to work I have to manually add them to my dependencies list and also add the directory where they are located. >From the link above it seems not to autolink of you have the preprocessor variable BOOST_IOSTREAMS_NO_LIB defined, but I dont seem to have that defined anywhere. Does anyone know why these libraries may not be autolinked? Thanks! Christy

Thanks for your answer. I see, I am pretty out of time here. I will look into phoenix. Can you provide an indication as to how you would handle my example with phoenix? That would be of great help. PS: If this message doesn't end up in the right thread, I apologize. I haven't figured out how to reply to the list... Do I have to not user list receive messages in a digest, but receive them one by one?

[OT] Interested in good (fast, robust) boost-based JSON API

Can anyone recommend one such good targeted library up to Boost's standards you've had good success with? (with a boost-like commercial friendly license) I guess it would need to be Tuple and Spirit based to be well integrated to Boost, although it could also have a polymorphic base json::value class too. Thanks for any insights. --DD PS: C++ JSON libraries listed at http://json.org/ don't seem quite up to the task, thus my post. PPS: If Spirit-based, a library using Spirit V2 as released in Boost 1.41 would be preferred.

How to return a Null pointer for shared_ptr

Hi, I defined a shared_ptr in to a map table. How can I return a NULL pointer in a function to search the table if it is not found as following example? typedef shared_ptr<int> IntPtr; typedef std::map<std::string IntPtr> MapTable; MapTable mt; IntPtr search(const std::string& key) { MapTable::const_iterator it = mt.find(key); if (it == mt.end()) { return NULL; // can't compile it?? } return it->second; } Thank you.
