How to generate fusion::vector from mpl::vector? How to generate mpl::vector from fusion::vector? BOOST_MPL_ASSERT((is_same< fusion::vector<int, char>, generate_fusion_vector<mpl::vector<int, char> >::type >)); BOOST_MPL_ASSERT((is_same< mpl::vector<int, char>, generate_mpl_vector<fusion::vector<int, char> >::type >)); I need generate_fusion_vector and generate_mpl_vector metafunctions. I can write my own metafunctions, but i suspect that they already exist. I generated fusion::map with help result_of::as_map before, so vector generation is the same, but in current boost(trunk, 1.39 also) such error occur: D:\Libraries\boost_trunk\boost/fusion/sequence/intrinsic/size.hpp(56) : error C2903: 'apply' : symbol is neither a class template nor a function template D:\Libraries\boost_trunk\boost/fusion/container/vector/convert.hpp(23) : see reference to class template instantiation 'boost::fusion::result_of::size' being compiled with [ Sequence=boost::mpl::vector ] temp.cpp(71) : see reference to class template instantiation 'boost::fusion::result_of::as_vector' being compiled I don't understand what is going on? -- Regards, Andrey

MUMPS interface

Hi all, On the MUMPS (a MUltifrontal Massively Parallel sparse direct Solver) project website they say: "Karl Meerlenberg has developped C++ bindings for MUMPS. They are available in BOOST, the path is boost/numeric/bindings/mumps/mumps_driver.hpp ". Does anybody know anything about this library? The path seems to be nonsense to me, maybe I'm missing something here? Best, Markku

Yep we really do have a completely different compiler\toolchain from any currently present, with different switches to GCC, different extensions for compiled objects etc. Of course bjam doesn't need to be built for the target architecture :) It's just that while poking around it looked like bjam needed to have some knowledge about the toolchains it was building for and I suspected that the .jam files in the directory I mentioned earlier were a means to do this. Passing lambda placeholders to functions

It seems very simple, but it's not compiling. int translate(const std::string& str) { return 0; } //all required using declarations are present but omitted for brevity // options_description options; variables_map values; int i; options.add_options() ("test", value<std::string>()->notifier(var(i) = translate(_1))); I get the following error: 'translate': cannot convert parameter 1 from 'boost::lambda::placeholder1_type' to 'std::string'. No user defined conversion operator available that can perform this conversion, or the operator cannot be called. Is this type of usage unsupported for some reason? If I change the variable declaration and the add_options() call to the following it works fine: std::string s options.add_options() ("test", value<std::string>()->notifier(var(s) = _1));

Boost spirit... classic?

Hi, I'm a bit confused. It seems like all the includes for boost spirit are "classic" i.e. it seems to me I have an old version, but I'm currently using 1.39. I looked on the spirit website and there is no information about the correct way to use the latest version of the spirit framework. The most I found was a post from about a year ago about the "classic" includes. The documentation on the boost website doesn't have any information. Is there some information about this somewhere? What should I be doing to create new parsers? Kind regards, Samuel

[Proto] fatal error C1001: An internal error has occurred in the compiler.

Hi all, Here am I already at the 2nd compiler (VC9SP1) crash of the week (not kidding...): fatal error C1001: An internal error has occurred in the compiler. (compiler file 'f:\dd\vctools\compiler\utc\src\p2\p2symtab.c', line 5809) Attached is a test file producing the problem. The crash happens when I add BOOST_PROTO_DEFINE_OPERATORS. Am I doing something wrong? Sadly, this was a workaround to avoid deriving my class from proto::terminal because of a problem (supposedly) created by the address-of operator. Can someone save my day and tell me if there is a way to deactivate this operator for terminals? [program_options] separating long name and short name

Hello, I would like to store an option name in a variable and later use it with variables_map. E.g. const char* incl = "include-path"; options_description desc; desc.add_options()(incl, "include path"); variables_map vm; store(parse_command_line(argc, argv, desc), vm); if(vm.count(incl)) { ... } But if I also want to specify a short name const char* incl = "include-path,i"; ... The answer here is always zero: vm.count(incl) Is there a way to add a short name separately? Thank you Mikhail

How to build libboost_thread-vc90-mt-sgd-1_39.lib

With a complete build of boost (running bjam from the main directory) I cannot find libboost_thread-vc90-mt-sgd-1_39.lib. However the same library is linked automatically when I use the thread library within a program build against the Multi-threaded (/MT) runtime of Visual studio 2008. What should I do? Luca
