Interprocess support for Pipe

Hi, Does boost interprocess support "pipe" like operations. That is if process A writes something and when process B reads it, the memory content should be reset. If I use shared memory, it complicates things. Thanks, Lloyd

Boost Random Numbers: Normal Distribution

Hello, I tried to find out which method is used by the boost library to transform random numbers from a random number engine to the Gaussian Distribution. There are the Box-Muller-Method, Marsaglia's Polar Method and Ziggurat's algorithm out there, but i could not determine which of those is actually used by boost::normal_distribution<double>? Modify an asio echo server so that it does not send message back to client

Hi, I am writing a simple server that is listening to binary data bucket being sent by a client. I am basing the prototype server on the following: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_55_0/doc/html/boost_asio/example/cpp03/echo… I am wonder what is the correct way to modify the example so that it does not echo the result back to the client. The amount of binary data sent are substantial, more importantly, the client has no way to handle the incoming data on the socket. I made a mistake. I used mpicxx in the below commands. eval_if fails - problem for C++ guru

I've been having a very difficult time with a problem illustrated by the following program: It looks like the eval_if in line 51 isn't working correctly. That is, the metafuction get_promotion_policy is being invoked when both types are not safe types. I've been working on this for two days and can't see what's going on. boost::tuple in std::map

Experts, I am using boost::tuple as key in std::map. I would like to write my own comparison method (considering tolerance in comparison) The default comparison defined in tuple_comparison.hpp is of no use to me. Any help in this is highly appreciated. Regards, UJ

[Log] Failed to compile applications with Boost.Log

Hi, guys. I am trying to to compile the tutorial code from Boost.Log with the trivial logger. But it fails with the error: "‘boost::log::v2s_mt_posix::trivial::boost’ has not been declared" OS: OracleLinux 6.6 G++: 4.4.7 Boost: 1.57 I have googled a lot about it, but it seems that all answers are related to some linking error, but this one is different. It seems that it does not even find the declaration in the first place. Anyone has similar experience?
