Compiling on HPUX RISC

We are compiling the boost library (just the RegEx portion) on an HP-UX machine using the aCC compiler v A.03.70. Straight off, it does not compile (a #error in hp_acc.hpp reports that version A.03.80 or higher is needed). We can suppress the error, but we quickly run into a compiler error "Not enough memory is available to finish the compilation". My suspicion is that the aCC compiler restriction was imposed because of this very problem and that there is no work-around. But I'd like to confirm this, and if I'm wrong, are there any suggestions or work-arounds that anyone may have. Unfortunately, we cannot upgrade our compiler due to customer requirements. --Marc Bernier

logical operators in lambda

Hi All I am trying to use boost::lambda using logicat operator. I would like to use it in a STL std::find_if call. What I receive is always the same error error: no match for ‘operator==’ in ‘boost::lambda::<unnamed>::_1 == 13’ Do you know what I am doing wrong? I need an atomic overwrite to an existing file since that filename is generated by mkstemp. Hi, This bit of Boost.Test code fails: ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// BOOST_AUTO_TEST_CASE( nantest ) { float a,b; a = b = 1.0; BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( a, b ); // passes a = b = NAN; BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( a, b ); // fails } ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// The failure is because, by definition, NAN != NAN. What I'm after is a test macro which takes this into account and will pass the equality test when both elements are NAN. BOOST_CHECK_CLOSE has the same behaviour. Is the best solution to write my own custom predicate? Brian

hello, I am a new student to C++ and using boost libraries in my project. I have a problem please solve it. I am using boost header files in my programs. When I compile using g++ on cygwin by giving the path of boost root directory (c:\boost\boost_1_42_0) it is ok. But when I try to make .exe file from .o file then it gives me error. Please tell me how should I link boost libraries to my program? in which directory are these boost libraries.? please reply must. my whole project is just a pice of writing nothing else. thank you

How to use property_map?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to use property_map in boost graph, after I reduce the problem to the minimal I still don't know what the problem is. Can someone help with this? Thanks in advance. Here is the simplified example: #include <iostream> #include <map> #include <string> #include <boost/property_map/property_map.hpp> using std::string; using boost::put; using boost::get; int main() { typedef std::map<std::string, int> Map; typedef boost::associative_property_map<Map> PMap; PMap map; put(map, string("acc"), 1); get(map, string("acc")); return EXIT_SUCCESS; } This version compiles OK with mingw 4.4, but crash when running. [Boost.UTF] Suggestion - test tracking

Hi all, I have a suggestion for the Boost unit-test library. If this is already possible and I've just missed it, please let me know. It would be nice if there was a sure-fire way to guarantee certain parts of the code were being tested. For example an if/else statement would ideally have tests that cover both execution paths, but at the moment this relies on coding the tests correctly. It's possible to make a mistake in the test and cause it to succeed without actually testing the code in question, and because the test succeeds you may never notice. Would it be possible to have something like a BOOST_TESTED_BY macro, which causes the named test to fail if it completes without running that line? (As well as documenting where that part of the code is tested.) For example: if (condition) { BOOST_TESTED_BY(my_test); } else { BOOST_TESTED_BY(my_other_test); } BOOST_AUTO_TEST_CASE(my_test) { // This test fails if BOOST_TESTED_BY(my_test) doesn't run } Of course this is a simplified example, you'd probably want counts and things as well, but I thought it might be a useful addition to the test framework (assuming it can't be done already!)
