Hi, on http://www.boost.org/community/index.html kit indicates that 1.36.0 Beta should be available. However I found no link on the news or download page. Where can I get the beta? multithreaded read a file using thread lib

Hi, I tried to use boost/thread library to write a program to read a large text file. The program compiled but did not get the right answer. I am not sure my usage of the library is correct. I appreciate your helps. Initialization of boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket geneates unhandled exception

Hi, I'm getting confused by the unhandled exception I get when initializing a TCP socket. This happens when the socket is instantiated and initialized with an IO service object, from the constructor of a class called CProcessor. Here are the variables declaration, inside the class: boost::asio::ip::tcp::socket m_Socket; boost::asio::io_service m_IoService; Here is what the default constructor looks like for this class: CProcessor::CProcessor(void): m_Socket(m_IoService) {} The exception is generated by this constructor, as soon as the m_Socket object is initialized. The type of unhandled exception I got is as follow: "Unhandled exception at whatever in hatever.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xcccccce0." The program breaks in win_mutex.hpp, at a line calling: ::EnterCriticalSection(&crit_section_); I run VS9. Any idea?! Thanks, Jean

How to tokenize a string with substring as separators?

Hi, I would like to tokenize a string by specifying substrings as separators. So far, i only found the split function with is_any_of as argument. But is_any_of considers every character and not a (or some) substring. Would it be possible to add substrings to the already "well-known" separators (blanks...)? I want to apply some arbitrary function F on each element of a sequence through myfun class inherited from transform_view. I am unable to output the elements of the resultant sequence. Multiple "serialize" functions

Newbie question for the boost serialization library.. In my app I want to have two seperate serialization modes: One when I'm saving all the data, and one when I'm creating a 'save game'. The two will be an overlapping set of parameters. Is there a good way to do this with the serialization library? Some way to specify seperate functions to call. I'm about to add a global flag that I can check in my single serialize function, and then check that to determine if I'm saving data or a save game, but this is a bit of a hack and I'd rather have a seperate function. Boost::ProgramOptions configuration files: an unusual request

Alright, my problem is that in my configuration file, I need to carry data that maps names to a set of permissions (represented as strings when in the file, of course). There are two basic solutions that I can think of: the one-line-per-name approach and the entire-mapping-in-one-configuration-line approach. Is it possible to do the former with ProgramOptions and if so, how? Also, what would be a good syntax for the latter?

Cross compile Boost on Debian

Hi, I would like to compile the Boost Libraries using the Debian MingW cross compiler. Is that possible, and if so, how should I do that? I have tried several configure and bjam options but they did not succeed. I also tried to compile everything on Windows and copy the files to my Debian machine, but for some unknown reason the regex library does not compile into a dll and I cannot get the static library to link: it gives me errors on " undefined reference to `__Unwind_Resume'" TIA -- Groeten, Joost Kraaijeveld Askesis B.V.
