boost::variant build crashes Visual C++

Hello, I have a simple program to test boost::variant. Under Visual C++ 2005, configuration Release (/MD), the build fails with C1060 (out of heap space). The program compiles and runs as expected under Visual C++ 2005 Debug (/MTd), and under Visual C++ 2008 Express, Release and Debug. Below is the code. Any idea what's wrong? Using boost::gregorian (date_time) date with wide strings

Is it possible to use the boost date_time date class with wide strings? ie. std::wstring toConvert(L"12/12/2008"); date myDate; myDate = from_simple_string(toConvert); What do I have to do to enable this? I see the library is using std::string only. Thanks. This wasn't the case with 1.3.3.1, and there seems to reference to this in the docs. I would like the following in debug builds: *define=_SECURE_SCL=1* And this in release builds: *define=_SECURE_SCL=0* I'm not having much luck. Again, any insights would be greatly appreciated. Problems on using ostringstream with boost.format and boost.xpressive

Eclipse integration of bjam

calling function objects in a fusion vector

Hi all! I'm starting to play with boost::fusion and I am amazed by its power - thanks for the library, its great! Nevertheless, I ran into some trouble: I have fusion vector of function objects which all have the same arity and take the same arguments. Now I want to call each function object via the fusion::invoke method, as I have the arguments also on in a fusion vector, so something like this: typedef fusion::vector< binary_function1, binary_function2, ...> funcVec; typedef fusion::vector< double, int > argType; funcVec funs; argType args(0.5, 3); Now my idea was to use boost::bind to do the trick like this: boost::transform(funcVec, bll::bind(&fusion::invoke<>, _1, args)); However, this does not work - the bind complains about unresolved overloaded function type. Automatically generate serialization code?

Hi there. I am looking for ideas about automatically generating the serialization helpers. Boost serialization library would be used - the question is about a simple (hopefully) and foolproof way of automatically creating the helpers. The classed that need serialization are modified on a daily basis by other developers. Maintaining the serialization code manually isn't an option - looking for an automated way. One possible approach: 1) Run a parser that scans the C++ code and identifies the data members of the classes that declare serialize() 2) Generate .inl files (one for each class to be serialized) with the boost::serialize() methods 3) Include the .inl files in the corresponding .cpps 4) Compile and link... An idea thrown by someone was to get the data members by getting the symbols from the .obj files - but this would require two compiles - one to generate the object files from where the symbols would be extracted, then another one... Definitely someone else had solved this problem (with the above approach or a different one). Please let me know your opinions. Functions that evaluate to constants

Hi, I realize that C++03 will not permit functions to evaluate down to compile-time constants. However, I cannot wait until C++0x for this feature. So, I'm hoping that Boost will allow a temporary solution. Consider the following structure: static struct nullptr_t { template< typename t_type > operator t_type*() { return 0; } } nullptr; The compiler has everything it needs to turn this code into a single integral constant value. So, if I do the following: int* foo; if( foo == nullptr ) { } Then it should evaluate down to: int* foo; if( foo == 0 ) { } Is there any way to provide this behavior in Boost? I would like to avoid altering the actual design if possible. Perhaps this actually *does* evaluate to a constant and the problem is that I'm actually unaware of some specific rule that I didn't find in the C++03 standard. Thanks.
