[Filesystem] Native Pathname Format

I can not determine from the Filesystem documentation, nor the reference documentation which comes with it, what is the acceptable syntax for the native pathname format. It appears one must start the native pathname format with //: in order for it to be recognized, but I can not tell from what appears to me to be very confusing documentation whether this is so for the Boost Fileystem implementation. This would mean, let's say under Windows, that "c:\afile" would not be recognized but that "//:c:\afile" would be recognized, as far as I can make out from the documentation. It sure is confusing IMO. Can anybody clarify how this works for Filesystem and/or where there is a clear explanation of how it works in the documentation ?

boost::timer elapsed_max() is too small

Hi, I want to use boost timer to measure my program runtime. Unfortunately, the maximum elapsed time that it can give is only about two thousand seconds. I'm wondering if there is any way to increase this limit? boost::any typeid and different modules

Hi! I have some problems using boost::any in different modules that get loaded with libdl. If i store an int in the boost::any it works like a charm - but when i use a std::string then the boost::any (holding a std::string) isn't any_castable to a std::string because it seems that typeid(std::string) != boost::any.type(). Only thing which is the same is the string represantation of type().name(). I came around this with my own any_cast implementation: template<typename ValueType> ValueType * any_cast(any * operand) { return operand && (operand->type() == typeid(ValueType) || std::string(operand->type().name()).compare(typeid(ValueType).name())==0) ? &static_cast<any::holder<ValueType> *>(operand->content)->held : 0; } Is there a better way to address this issue? [multi_array] Warnings on upgrade to 1.34.1

subgraph and bundled properties

According to the release notes of version 1.33, bundled properties are now supposed to work with the subgraph adapter. Hi I am not sure I understand your program. But I know I do the same thing to check for existence of edges however I use edge_descriptor (and I work on a directed graph) instead edge_descriptor_type: typedef typename boost::graph_traits<my_graph_type>::edge_descriptor_type edge; I did not know that there was anything called an edge_descriptor_type ?? Does this help?? g++ often give strange error messages. Locating source file for boost function

Hello, I'm debugging a dylib built with XCode on a PowerPC G5. As I am stepping through the code, I find that I cannot view the source for the following call: boost::function0<void, std::allocator<boost::function_base> >::operator() The assembly code doesn't tell me much and I am having a hard time locating the source code for this. I thought the code was in the function_template.hpp file, but that is not working either. Thanks in advance! -Jaime

I want to use NULL char i.e ascii \x00 as a part of my regular expression. Does boost_regex support this? For examples: regular expression: ab\0cd matching char sequence: ab\0cd I expect ot get match a match for full expression ab\0cd How can I achieve this using boost_regex. Building boost 1.34.1

I'm having difficulties building boost 1.34.1 using the intel toolchain. Once bjam tries to invoke the compiler, I get the "Windows cannot open this file" dialog, where the file is an .obj.rsp file. It would appear that perhaps the compiler itself is not making it into the command line, thus causing the system to try executing the .rsp file directly. I am not having this problem if I use the msvc toolchain. Command to invoke the build: bjam --toolset=intel-9.1 Compiler: Intel(R) C++ Compiler for 32-bit applications, Version 9.1 Build 20060519Z bjam: Boost.Jam Version 3.1.14. OS=NT. Some environment variables: ICPP_COMPILER91=C:\Program Files\Intel\Compiler\C++\9.1 INTEL_BASE_MSVC_TOOLSET=vc-7_1 INTEL_LICENSE_FILE=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses INTEL_PATH=C:\Program Files\Intel\Compiler\C++\9.1\Ia32 INTEL_SHARED=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Shared Files I've run the iclvars batch script, icl.exe is on the path, and I've used this environment to build boost 1.33 successfully. I've tried various debug levels of bjam, and I haven't seen anything that makes a problem obvious to me. Thanks James
