Hi, I am a newbie of boost library. I use boost thread in a visual studio 2005 project for both PC and windows mobile 5.0. The applictication runs well on PC with boost library. But I have no idea on how to build boost library for windows mobile. Is there anyboday know that? Any suggestions are wecolme. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Haifeng

Question about boost::bind2nd

Hi everybody, I would like to bind a member function within the template function using the template argument. Please have a look at the following code: template<typename T> void Object::setField(FieldId fieldId, const T& fieldData) { // call for_each with setFieldImpl ... shadowCopies->for_each ( boost::bind2nd( boost::mem_fun(&Object::setFieldImpl<T>), fieldId, fieldData))); } template<typename T> void Object::setFieldImpl(FieldId fieldId, const T& fieldData) { ... do some stuff... } But the compiler tells me: could not deduce template argument for 'overloaded function type' from 'overloaded function type' Do you have any idea, how to do this? Memory leak using boost::regex_replace in Visual Studio

Hi...I need help bad. I just started using boost and it seemed very useful for doing regular expressions. I do have a problem and that is I have tons of memory leaks and I am not sure how or if it can be fixed. I have isolated the leak to the following section of code: for(iter = mapData.begin(); iter != mapData.end(); iter++) { // MH: Leak here const wchar_t * expressionText = (wchar_t *)(*iter).first.c_str(); const wchar_t * formatText = (wchar_t *)(*iter).second.c_str(); boost::wregex e1(expressionText); searchString = boost::regex_replace(searchString, e1, formatText); } Can someone please help me?

[array] VC++ 7.1 bug and a proposed fix

The following code does not compile with VC++ 7.1 and Boost 1.33.1. I believe the code should compile, and that this is a VC++ 7.1 bug. ----------------------------------------------------- #include <boost/array.hpp> using boost::array; struct X { array<int,4> f() { return array<int,4>(); } }; template<class X, class T> void g(X& x, T (X::*h)()) {} void f() { X x; g(x, &X::f); } ------------------------------------------------------ When I compile the code I get the bizarre error message error C2664: 'g' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'boost::array<T,N> (__thiscall X::* )(void)' to 'boost::array<T,N> (__thiscall X::* )(void)' with [T=int,N=4] and [T=int, N=4] Types pointed to are unrelated; conversion requires reinterpret_cast, C-style cast or function-style cast If I modify the array class by adding a non-templatized assignment operator, as follows, then the code does compile. --------------------------------------------------------- namespace boost { template<class T, std::size_t N> class array { ... array<T,N>& operator=(const array<T,N>& rhs) { std::copy(rhs.begin(), rhs.end(), begin()); return *this; } ... }; } ---------------------------------------------------------- So I propose that this assignment operator is added, as a VC++ 7.1 bug workaround, to the array class. back_inserter and pointer container library

[asio][iostream] trying to implement nntp-client

Hi Boosters, I´m playing around with the great boost::asio library but have problems using the boost::asio::ip::tcp::iostream. After a few minutes of waiting the server send a timeout notification. It is like I had never sent the request. The same code using sockets and asio::write() works ok. So my questions are: - In what way differ tcp::iostreams sending from asio::write() sending? - Do tcp::iostreams append (or convert or drop) any characters of the given string before sending? - Is there a way to gain direct access to tcp::iostreams underlying socket (at least for testing)? - What am I doing wrong? Ownership of Boost IP?

My employer's legal department has just stated that we may not use Boost for product development because of a hypothetical lawsuit risk. The reasoning appears to be that some party might rise up and claim that parts of one or more Boost libraries actually belong to it: that an individual developer, perhaps unknowingly, submitted code that was not his to give away because it rightfully belongs to his employer. In this horrid fantasy, the employer would then sue many parties, including anyone who has ever incorporated the affected Boost library into their own products. The SCO lawsuits make it tough to dismiss such arguments out of hand. This is disturbing on a number of levels. I want to marshal whatever counterarguments I can quickly assemble. If it states anywhere on the Boost web site that the Boost organization certifies its implementation IP clean... sorry, I wasn't really expecting that. But anything whatever that would bolster the case against this paranoia would be extremely helpful. Thank you!
