[Parameter] Positional arg after named arg

Hi, With the parameter library is there any way to stop misuse as in; func(/*a = */1,b = 2); Fine, a is positional, b is named. func(a = 1,2); Happily compiles but probably isn't what was intended, the default value is used for the second parameter. Should positional arguments be allowed to occur after named arguments? Perusing the Parameter library docs I can't see any mention as to what should happen here. Regards, Richard. [program_options]Lack of information in exceptions thrown

Hi, I would like to know the name of the option that causes the command line parsing to fail. I don't like the idea of having to parse the what() string to extract the option name. I think the exception classes should be extended with functions to get this information. This is useful if you want to control the appearance of the error messages. E.g. use another language than English. [serialization] Overriding serialization of class pointer types

Hi all, I'm currently working on a game engine, and hoping to use boost serialization for the world saving code. It's nearly perfect except for one snag - serializing pointers to sprite file classes. Ideally I'd like to simply serialize the name of the sprite file, and on deserialization find the file in the sprite cache 'gallery', but this requires using split serialization in all the classes that reference sprites. Is there a way to simply override the serialization of /pointers/ to classes? program_options positional options and help message

Hi, I'm just discovering po, and I wonder how to achieve the following: I want that the help message that I produce by streaming my options description to standard output also mentions the positional options, in the way that the traditional 'usage:' message does: usage: $PROG [options] FILE1 FILE2 ... [string_algo][range] compile problem with recent cvs

But try to trace how many users download only one required lib instead of the entire bunch? 3. I think a setup can feature the following selection options: - ask the user to register the PATH-EnvVar, so that binary files are automatically found (NSIS supports it) - ask the user to register boost libs in Include path of VC++ (Win32, x64, PocketPC...) - ask the user to register boost libs in Lib path of VC++ (Win32, x64, PocketPC...) There is an article in MSDN how to do that. Please read: ms-help://MS.VSCC.v80/MS.MSDN.v80/MS.VisualStudio.v80.en/dv_vcextall/html/T_Microsoft_VisualStudio_VCProjectEngine_VCPlatform.htm It relies on .NET, but I think it is now not possible to install the VC++ without .NET Environment. 4. I would select the Windows Installer Technology anyway: - Graphical Installer creation Tool is available with Visual C++ (more or less free if you have VC++) - This Technology can be repackaged by other system administrators to deploy boost-libs within the enterprise (this happens pretty often) - Merge Modules can be used to provide users with pre-defined boost distribution components. A user only needs to select the appropriate MSM-Package to be linked with the application setup. I understand that these points require a lot, but this would be a "perfect installer". Hello, yesterday I downloaded the boost installer package from boost-consulting site (http://www.boost-consulting.com/download.html) and started the installation. Everything was fine, but now I have a question: After choosing and installing the desired libraries I would like to know what should be expected as a result? I selected to install the libraries for Visual C++ 8.0, but I still had to put manually into C++ Options Dialog the directories to boost includes, libs and binaries. Shouldn't this be done by setup? Would not it be better to create merge modules, so that boost users could use them for their installations as well? With Kind Regards, Ovanes Markarian
