Placeholder Arguments

How do the placeholders actually get the arguments applied? I have read through parts of the metaprogramming book and the documentation. It's obvious to me how something like _1 (arg<1>) selects its argument. I haven't been able to figure out is how it gets the arguments in the first place considering the Lambda expression is not something like _1(5) in most of the examples I have found. My template skills are weak, and I am attempting to sharpen my them (and metaprogramming skills). Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Joseph L. McCay

dijkstra-listS bug in MSVC 6.0?

Hi, I tried to compile dijkstra-example-listS (BGL CVS) in MSVC 6.0. There were several errors. In the code tie(e, inserted) = add_edge(edge_array[j].first, edge_array[j].second, g); The variable int edge_array[j].first and edge_array[j].second cannot be converted to descriptors. Strange compile error with Boost.Serialization

Hello all, when I compile the code below (with MSVC 7.1), I get an error telling me that "'serialize' : is not a member of 'std::vector<_Ty>'". I will post the exact error message below the code. The strange thing about this is that when I change the #define TEST line to #define TEST 1 (or 2 or 3), it compiles ok [1 means that only the iarchive is used, 2 that the oarchive is used, and 3 that a 'B' object is serialized instead of an 'A' object]. Is there anything wrong with the code? It should be passing boost::ref(TradeVector) to boost::bind instead of TradeVector, or maybe not passing an argument at all. This is probably what's responsible for the crash. Thanks Daniel, you were spot on: I did have a compiled copy of boost 1.29 in there. Now to the bad news: demo.cpp compiles but does not link with what looks like a thousand symbols missing (archives and serialization stuff). Seems like i'm missing a library, but which one? and is it supposed to come with the debian package? (I do have all the include files.) I looked but couldn't find a dedicated package for just the serialization library. There're three mentions of "libboost_serialization" in the archive of this mailing list but not a single word in the current documentation (website or local). Is there some chunk of documentation I'm thoroughly missing? The strange thing is -> works fine on a single processor Linux SUSE 9.1 but gives segmentation fault on a double processor machine with the same OS. I do not understand this. I very much doubt that there's a bug in the std::vector implementation you're using. More likely CFXTrade doesn't meet the requirements for vector element types (CopyConstructible and Assignable). But and queue uses deque by default, and deque imposes the same requirements, so even if your program works on your current compiler it could break if you use any other compiler, or a different version, or even different options. Of course, we can't really tell if you don't post the missing code.
