(Daniel Elliot also commented on this last week.) My membership application there is pending still - its only been 2 days for me but still no posts on ublas from Daniel. (Has everyone in the US gone on holiday to avoid the election coverage?). Could the registration process at ublas-dev in yahoo groups be relaxed as there do appear to be measures to stop spambots autoregistering. ------------------------------ All, I have been waiting for acceptance into the uBLAS-dev group for approximately two months now. I have completely given up on lobbying for expiditing this process. I would love to have access to this group! I am deeply involved in projects using uBLAS. thanks again brian.Like u said, i also thought about project settings and made sure I had set the various options and linker specifications correctly...well, i solved a lot of issues and i am down to 12 errors from initially 122. Which is quite a relief, but these last 12 are still an issue taking away a considerable time of mine. I am working on them right now but do let me know if you have any clue. They are mainly some issues with luabind and boost. I have just made #include references to luabind and boost. Havent included any .libs for them, so it would be great if you let me know if there are any specific .libs for the same that need to be added to the project settings. APart from that I have made sure that the various include and lib directory paths have been set correctly. I am attaching the error message below, thanks again in advance, regards, rohit Linking... I.e. I would double check to make sure that those settings like "not using MFC" and "Single Threaded-Debug MSVCRT" are all set the SAME amongst everything you are building. (!!) I am *not* an expert on bjam (working on it though) but I know just in the VC world, you WILL get errors like below if you do not have your debugging and threading models all set the same. I would also suggest to you if you setup JUST VC projects for EVERYTHING and get everything to build properly in the MS tool (I am not sure if below is bjam or not) that will at least get you to something that works and it will be easier to take the bjam step from there. You can also make a solution- and then add the individual project files under that one "parent solution" which will make the above steps easier. ublas developer list accepting new members?

I've seen a number of ublas questions here recently (including my own); is there difficulty in joining the ublas-dev list on yahoo groups? (Daniel Elliot also commented on this last week.) My membership application there is pending still - its only been 2 days for me but still no posts on ublas from Daniel. (Has everyone in the US gone on holiday to avoid the election coverage?). Could the registration process at ublas-dev in yahoo groups be relaxed as there do appear to be measures to stop spambots autoregistering.

Suggestion: MS VC is EXTREMELY finicky about having all the settings be very close on all aspects of everything you are linking. I.e. I would double check to make sure that those settings like "not using MFC" and "Single Threaded-Debug MSVCRT" are all set the SAME amongst everything you are building. (!!) I am *not* an expert on bjam (working on it though) but I know just in the VC world, you WILL get errors like below if you do not have your debugging and threading models all set the same. I would also suggest to you if you setup JUST VC projects for EVERYTHING and get everything to build properly in the MS tool (I am not sure if below is bjam or not) that will at least get you to something that works and it will be easier to take the bjam step from there. You can also make a solution- and then add the individual project files under that one "parent solution" which will make the above steps easier. thanks brian and aleksey....well i installed the latest beta of visual studio 2005 instead of my mvc 6.0. It did get rid of the block scoping issues and many other compiling issues i was facing. Recently, I download boost 1.31.0 and compile it with Visual studio.net 2003. But the code below can't work properly: class A { public: A() { printf("constructor.\n"); } ~A() { printf("destructor.\n"); } void operator () () { } }; int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { A a; boost::thread t(a); t.join(); } In my system, it generate the message like this: D:\thread\Debug>thread.exe constructor. destructor. destructor. destructor. destructor. destructor. destructor. Boost::Regex - bug work-around...?

Hi there... I've been trying to implement some routines using the Boost library, primarily with the excellent RegEx library. Everything was working well enough in small tests, but when I tried running the routines on many patterns, my program would crash (it performs various pattern matching and search-and-replaces in multiple text files). I was able to determine that the crashes came on the calls to regex-related functions (though it tended to be a little unpredictable as to when, depending on the set of files I gave it). I tried changing my project settings (I use VC6, btw) to link with "debug" libraries instead of the standard ones (eg. "Debug Multithreaded"), and ran the program again, and everything worked perfectly. Unfortunately... I don't want to have my program running with all-debug libraries for performance and size reasons. However, is it possible to have my link-settings set to use standard libraries as before, but for the stuff that uses the regex library, to use a debug ".lib" file? Or... in the 'bjam' process, is it possible to say something to the effect of "when compiling the regex libraries, turn off compiler optimizations", so I can get a standard library that should work...? Hopefully that'll make sense... :P Thanks for your time, Mike.
