[Phoenix] using container algorithms

have a Visual Studio 2008 C++03 application using boost 1.49 phoenix. I would like to define a boost::function to remove an element from a list. Error 1 error C2504: 'boost::phoenix::impl::remove::result<Sig>' : base class undefined \boost\utility\result_of.hpp 80 Error 2 error C2039: 'type' : is not a member of 'boost::result_of<F>' \boost\phoenix\core\detail\preprocessed\function_eval_10.hpp 121 Error 3 error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'type' \boost\phoenix\core\detail\preprocessed\function_eval_10.hpp 122 Error 4 error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int \boost\phoenix\core\detail\preprocessed\function_eval_10.hpp 122 Error 5 error C2602: 'boost::phoenix::detail::function_eval::result<Sig>::type' is not a member of a base class of 'boost::phoenix::detail::function_eval::result<Sig>' \boost\phoenix\core\detail\preprocessed\function_eval_10.hpp 122 Error 6 error C2868: 'boost::phoenix::detail::function_eval::result<Sig>::type' : illegal syntax for using-declaration; expected qualified-name \boost\phoenix\core\detail\preprocessed\function_eval_10.hpp 122 A similar function AddToList compiles cleanly: boost::function< void( int ) > AddToList = bp::push_back( bp::ref( a ), bpa::arg1 ); This also works correctly (but is much less elegant): boost::function< void( int ) > RemoveFromList = bp::bind( &std::remove< std::list< int >::iterator, int >, a.begin(), a.end(), bpa::arg1 ); What is the correct way to use the boost.phoenix.remove function? I would like to convert utc time to local time. I have question about boost pointer. If I define a pointer by using: boost::shared_ptr<int> p; How to use p to get next int? In classic c++ pointer, I could use *(p+1). mapped_region locks on multithread

Hello, SETTING: - There is an application, written using Boost Template library, meant for QUICK processing of bulk text files (cca 50-100Gb each). - There is a huge, quick and expensive piece of hardware with HUGE amount of RAM and multiple CPU. - There is [theoretically] any possible UNIX-like OS, even Microsoft Windows (R) is considered. - Boost Thread Pool extension is used; previously memory mapped files through memory_segment have been used, now got rid of the entire Boost::interprocess. - There are NO explicit data items in the application's algorithm to be shared by threads, each has its own piece of input file, thus - there is NO explicit concurrency. PROBLEM: - Ensure fast processing without locks and threads sleeping. Currently the threads sleep on some internal mutex. We thought it's been boost::interprocess (specifically - mmap, wrapped by a mutex), but it apparently isn't so. SPECIFIC QUESTION: - How could we get rid of Boost locks? Mike

define multi dimension array at run time

Hello list I'm writing an n-dimensional histogram class and would like to use the boost multidimension array to store the elements of the histogram So the array is defined as a class member but is first initialized through the constructor, but according to boost example page its something like: typedef boost::multi_array<double, 3> array_type; but I'd like: typedef boost::multi_array<std::vector<MyObject>, n> array_type; where n is given through the constructor Is this somehow possible? Building PDF with Open Source Solution

Hi there, This is slightly off topic. I have a question how pdf's are build within the boost build system. As far as I could figure it out the build system uses a proprietary solution called RenderX XEP or so. I'm wondering if there are open source solutions out there that could be used to generate boost's documentation as pdf files? Thanks, Christian
