Hash float functions - request for help

Hello everyone, The hash functional tests have finally made it into the regression summary, but there are a few failures, mainly caused by the float functions. I've committed a couple of fixes that should improve matters, but I could use some help porting them to other compilers/platforms. I've attached a couple of test files, it would be great if you could run them on the compilers and platforms that you have access to and send me the results. It's quite likely that the second test will fail to compile, just let me know if it does. Send the results to me directly, to avoid noise. You'll need to add the boost include path when compiling the tests. The tests try to discover the versions of the float functions for the different float types - if you know of a differently named function for your platform that would be a great help. I guess the proper way to do this would be to add macros and tests to Boost.Config, but it's too near to the release to do that. thanks for any help, Daniel

Hi Paul, Thanks for the feedback! My guess without seeing the error messages is the win::result helper class. It (incorrectly) relies on <windows.h> if _WIN32 or __WIN32__ or WIN32 is defined. I've posted a new errorinfo2.zip to the sandbox, but couldn't delete the old version - permission denied :( I don't understand for sure why the code compiled for me. If the current version still doesn't compile, you could try adding <winerror.h> right next to <windows.h> in errorinfo.hpp. Again, thanks! Just curious if anyone has had a chance to look at the errorinfo.zip or think about the previous email on this subject. I am looking at putting together a straw man for a general asynchronous library and shared_ptr<errorinfo> would play much better in that space than shared_ptr<std::exception>. The state of the review process

[Wave]

Do you think Wave could be used for adding some syntatic sugar that would allow easy compile time programming of strings? If I remember the main issue with such thoughts it was the clumsiness of the typelist of characters. A little non-standard sugar from Wave might solve that. Been thinking about a compile time packet parser and how something like a spirit-like but at compile time would fit the bill. Thoughts? Matt. matthurd(a)acm.org
