[shmem] New Shmem snapshot available in boost vault

Hi to all! After some busy weeks, I've been working again on Shmem library. This is what you get in the new snapshot I've just placed in Boost Vault: Documentation: -> Ported all documentation to QuickBook. Very little has changed and the real Documentation work starts now. But Quickbook allows direct source file inclusion for examples, syntax highlighting and some other nice features. Suggestions are welcome. -> Apart from the documentation zip in boost.vault, I've put the documentation online in this address (there are banners, but nothing is free...): http://ice.prohosting.com/newfunk/boost/libs/shmem/index.html Bugfixes: -> shmem set-map family iterator bugfix in operator->() -> shmem vector fix in size() -> Added some missing typedefs in STL-like containers New features: -> shmem assoc_vector has died, long live to flat_set/flat_multiset/flat_map/flat_multimap! Based in an ordered vector, the flat associative ordered container family is born as an extension of Loki's AssocVector. shmem_assoc_vector.hpp is provided for backwards compatibility. If you don't like flat_* name, suggestions are welcome for this new classes. Any comment, suggestion or help is welcome. Regards, /Ion

Google Summer of Code Stipends for student programmers

Might Boost be interested in becoming a "mentoring organization"? That would allow a student to get a summer stipend from Google to write code to contribute to boost. I'd guess that we probably have a few student programmers on the list who have already demonstrated their capabilities and enthusiasm. If so, see below. std::wstring support in GCC/Cygwin?

What is the story on std::wstring support with GCC/Cygwin? How do you turn it on? I'm trying to test the Boost.Filesystem i18n branch with more compilers. It is working fine with last model Intel, Metrowerks, and Microsoft on Windows, and GCC on the Mac, but no luck with GCC/Cygwin. --Beman

Regression testing (1.33)

Since we seem to be getting close (date anyone?) to the release of 1.33, I've changed my testing cycle to 8 times a day to improve turnaround for the library authors. The only remaining failures in VC-8_0 are some datetime things (the localtime test is clearly a deliberate choice on someone's part to make dates before 1970 "illegal"). Are there any representatives from either Microsoft or Dinkumware here who can explain this decision? Should we mark them as "expected failures" (though I'd object to having the block turn green simply because _I_ beileve it is an error and should show up as such) the two "input facet" test failures show only: Run output [2005-05-31 17:13:49 UTC]: EXIT STATUS: 666 not a lot of information for chasing down the actual problem. Ditto the "errors handling test" in threads, not much to go on. btw, I notice in the threads test that I seem to be the only person running some of the tests?
