New Getting Started Guide

Hi David/other boosters, I'd like to suggest a couple of things if I may: - I'm not sure what encoding you are using to write the document, but quotes(?) show up funny in my browser (firefox on ubuntu eft). I've attached a shot of what they look like. Could be my setup. - The instructions seem to encourage building all variants of boost libraries by default. I think this would be the document to read if it also included instructions on how to only build the ones you were interested in. Maybe just how to build the release variant (which is what a starter would be most interested in, I would think) Sohail PS: The screenshot comes from the line: "# In the name field, enter ..." under section 3.3

Hi all, Both Borland and gcc-mingw are failing the tss_lib tests, due to lack of tss_cleanup_implemented, implying we don't have a means of doing automatic TSS cleanup when static linking with these compilers. Unless anyone has any good reason not to (such as an idea on how to implement such automatic cleanup), I will mark these as expected failures tomorrow. Hi, This link is the best thing since sliced bread :-) Wow I didn't even know that page existed, something that I have been looking for a long time with such "comprehensive" and "documented" links to the hourly snapshots especially since I like to play with the latest and greatest CVS-HEAD. Can someone with enough rights please add this link on the main boost.org website. Markus suggests "Other Resources" and I say it should be subtitled under this as "CVS Snapshots" or "CVS Hourly Snapshots" or "Meta-Comm Boost Snapshots" which points to http://engineering.meta-comm.com/boost.aspx. I needed it to work for an input chain and I do not see why there is such a limitation. My idea is to catch a copy of the data somewhere in the chain before it gets transformed further. Whether it is input our output it should work, right? (at least in theory...) Anyone has input in that regard?
