When I try to build the documentation from BOOST_ROOT/doc by invoking bjam I get: error: Unable to find file or target named error: 'object(file-target)@1153' error: referred from project at error: '/home/roland/projects/boost/HEAD/tools/quickbook' The same works for RC_134_0 What I am missing? common.copy does not copy manifest for executable + problem with release

However I have to manually copy the test.hello.manifest from bin/msvc-8.0/debug/ to ../bin Is there a way to fix this? ---------------------------- also when I try to create the relase copy by typing "bjam release" the macros are not correctly defined, there are no exports in hello.lib, and the whole process fails. there was another problem also. I forgot to define a macro for exporting functions in hello.lib. msvc didn't see any exports in hello.dll, and didn't create hello.lib. I think I found a bug in the windows version of bjam. If I change the directory name, ../include , to anything else, for example ../inc , then it works fine. The name ../include confounds the windows version of bjam. [Boost.Function] loosely enforced function signature

Given these two type declarations: typedef boost::function1<void, int &> signature; typedef void (*fp)(int &); and these two function definitions: void not_match(int v) { } // arg by value void match(int & v) { } // arg by ref The following seems to be true on my compiler (GCC 4.0.2): Case 1) signature fn = match; // compiles Case 2) signature fn = not_match; // compiles (problematic) Case 3) fp fn = match; // compiles Case 4) fp fn = not_match; // fails My question is, shouldn't Boost.Function library fail in case 2 with the error along the lines of case 4's: "error: invalid conversion from ‘void (*)(int)’ to ‘void (*)(int&)’"? I noticed this problem when users of my library register callbacks but occasionally mistype their function signature. They end up modifying function-local, rather than "out", variables.
