[crypto] stream(buf) ctor to message_digest

To calculate md5's of large files, I added a ctor to message_digest: template <typename charT, class traits> explicit message_digest(const std::basic_ios<charT, traits> & s) { std::basic_streambuf<charT, traits> * sb = s.rdbuf(); std::streamsize sz = 0; charT buf[block_size]; while( (sz = sb->sgetn(buf, block_size)) != 0 ) { input(buf, sz); } } Its just as easy to do this outside the message_digest class using input(void*,size_t) but it seems that calculating md5 checksums for large files might be common enough to warrant it. This may not be the best impl. I use basic_ios because its the first class in the ios_base hierarchy that provides rdbuf(). Thoughts? Chris

[Math Toolkit] Linker errors on SunCC

Hi Math Toolkit developers. (Sending to this list as library is still in development?) If I try and run the tests on SunCC using the following command: /opt/SunStudio12/SUNWspro/bin/CC -o \ build/debug/vendor/boost/libs/math/test/log1p_expm1_test \ -library=stlport4,Crun \ build/debug/vendor/boost/libs/math/test/log1p_expm1_test.o \ -Lbuild/debug/vendor/boost -Lvendor/boost -lboost_regex I get this linker error: Undefined first referenced symbol in file int boost::math::tools::digits<boost::math::concepts::real_concept>() build/debug/vendor/boost/libs/math/test/log1p_expm1_test.o ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to build/debug/vendor/boost/libs/math/test/log1p_expm1_test Has anyone seen this before? What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance, Sohail

Hi Given the instructions at <http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/wiki/ImprovingPractices#Mergingchangesfromd…> I'm supposed to wait for an announcement to merge my trunk changes to the release branch. 1. How will this announcement be made? Would it be possible to get an email? 2. Is there an estimate when the announcement will be made? 3. How am I supposed to merge status/explicit-failures-markup.xml? Will I not somehow screw up the merge history of that file when I just merge the changes relevant for my library and ignore all the other pending changes? Boost.Format does not support %zu

When printing a size_t in C I use "%zu" (I do hope that is correct). The 'z' modifier is not supported in Boost.Format (1.34.1). In order to ease porting C code it would be nice if it was supported (i.e. ignored ;-) as well as l, L and h. Best regards Christoph

The topic of what gets built "out of the box" came up again, this time on IRC. Some background... In the past we have gone the route of building as much as possible when users do the manual Boost build+install. That approach has gotten us a rather distressing reputation of building being a real pain, mostly because it takes a long time to build. But also because it generates a dizzying array of library files and hence people have a hard time understanding what to link to. The old real way to "solve" this is to reduce the number of variants we build by default. So the current favorite is to only build: * multi-threaded, shared runtime, release This seems to be the most used and most immediately useful variant in the majority of platforms. It also happens to be, other than release vs. debug, the only possible variant in some platforms. The Windows smoke tests will be down until Tuesday evening; I'm headed out of town and need to shut the machine down. The Linux smoke tests will continue to cycle, but the machine is unattended so if it hangs then it won't get restarted until Tuesday. --Beman

Hi, Does anyone know of a BGL or other generic and free C++ implementation of a maximum weighted matching algorithm for general (non-bipartite) graphs? LEDA has the algorithm but the license is restrictive.
