[Parameter] template return type

I am trying to use Boost.Parameter to construct some objects, much like make_tuple(A,B) does except with some of the arguments being optional and replaced by defaults (which may depend on the other arguments). The return type, however, must be a template class with the template arguments dependent on the arguments supplied. Is this possible? How can the return type for a Boost.Parameter frunction be specified as a template type? Thanks for your help. Cheers, Brook

Hi, all `gacap' is template library of "Generating All Combinations and Permutations". It's supper of std::next_permutation() and std::prev_permutation(). There's a old discussion: "[boost] [tr2]Add Combination against std::permutation. Review Request: Generalization of the Pimpl idiom

I hope I am following the submission procedure correctly. I read the guidelines and I seem to do what is needed. Apologies if I missed something. The code is in the Boost Vault called Pimpl.zip It compiles with GCC 4.1.2 (I use it on Ubuntu 7.04) and MS Visual Studio 2005. Hi there, I just uploaded a new version of Join library into Vault under "Concurrent Programming". Could a review be arranged? A brief description: "Join is an asynchronous, message based C++ concurrency library based on join calculus. It is applicable both to multi-threaded applications and to the orchestration of asynchronous, event-based applications. It follows Comega's design and implementation and builds with Boost facilities. It provides a high level concurrency API with asynchronous methods, synchronous methods, and chords which are "join-patterns" defining the synchronization, asynchrony, and concurrency." [Boost][ProgramOptions] Interest in a CGI parameters parser?

Hello, Yesterday I had to write a program that compiles 2 forms of executables: a standalone version that takes its parameters from the command line, and another one that serves as a CGI program and thus takes exactly the same parameters but from stdin (POST method). I naturally chose Boost.ProgramOptions for the first one, and did the job by myself for the second one. I finally realized that I was doing fundamentally the same thing as what a ProgramOptions parser basically does: parsing a name=value series of variables, checking unknown values, assign them to variables, etc... plus a few formatting work to handle URL format specificities. So in the end I was wondering if a "cgi_query_parser" would be appreciated as an addition to the parsers already present in Boost.ProgramOptions? I can directly see the benefits inside my own program since the 2 versions would only differ on one line of code. >From a more general point of view, it could be a simple way to have a CGI support somewhere in Boost. If such a thing can be interesting, I can take a few time to implement it. Regards Bruno

Newbie question on asio and TCP/IP

Hi, I'm writing program with asio from 1.35.0 to read the data from a hardware device which sends data to my PC to port 7000. The sample below fails on Windows with exception code 10022, text "An invalid argument was supplied". Where's the fault? Can someone help please? [asio] 1.35.0 documentation to pdf problem?

[test] --catch_system_errors questions

Hi ! I'm using Boost.Test for quite a while and now I wonder if the behaviour of "--catch_system_errors" is correct. I've attached a simple test case which just triggers a simple "assert(false);". Running the testcases with trunk bjam yields one failure and two passing tests. See "test.log" for details. Running the testcases against 1.341. yields three failures with _different_ exit codes. See test_1_34_1.log When looking at the output of trunk "with_catch.test", I see --snip--- with_catch: assert_test.cpp:13: void test_assert::test_method(): Assertion `false' failed. <TestLog><TestSuite name="Master Test Suite"><TestCase name="test_assert"><Message file="assert_test.cpp" line="11">one</Message><Info file="assert_test.cpp" line="12">check true passed</Info><TestingTime>0</TestingTime></TestCase></TestSuite></TestLog><TestResult><TestSuite name="Master Test Suite" result="passed" assertions_passed="1" assertions_failed="0" expected_failures="0" test_cases_passed="1" test_cases_failed="0" test_cases_skipped="0" test_cases_aborted="0"></TestSuite></TestResult> EXIT STATUS: 0 --snap-- So, some observations: Obviously, the UTF succeds in catching the "assert". The resulting message is not in the XML-Log The return code is 0 (Success). A quick look at the new docs prototype at http://www.patmedia.net/~rogeeff/html/utf/usage-recommendations/command-lin… found "If you got fatal exception somewhere within test case, make program generate coredump by adding extra command line argument " This was not easy to spot since the real test cases succeeded with error code 0 and the message was hidden in the log file. I found this because msvc on windows fires up an annoying debug window instead. So it seems this is not working there. So, my questions/suggestions are: Is this a bug ? Or a feature ? And if its a feature, where can I find the rationale ? I think the caught assertions should lead to a non-zero exit code and a failing test suite.
