AMDG boost/random/detail/signed_unsigned_tools.hpp has specializations of make_unsigned for long long. gcc rejects this when compiling with -ansi -pedantic. The attached patch replaces random::detail::make_unsigned with the TypeTraits version. Ok to commit? In Christ, Steven Watanabe

I'm in unfamiliar territory here, so there's probably more that can be done to help with compile-time efficiency and whatnot. It also still needs some more tests on the checked_ops and the ratio operators but I've run out of time for now (and I'm sure you have a proper test-suite somewhere ;-). IIUC, I *think* that only leaves dealing with the conditionals related to the optional convenience SI typedefs. Hope that helps, Darren

Hello, me and my compiler think that there is an error in this file: cxx: Error: ../boost/interprocess/allocators/detail/node_pool.hpp, line 334: expression must have (pointer-to-) function type (exprnotptrfun) { this->purge_blocks()(); } ------^ This should probably read 'this->purge_blocks();', without the extra pair of brackets. [release procedure] do ew manually have to merge changes from trunk to the release branch?

Hi, Maybe I missed something, but I thought trunk formed the basis of the release branch for each new release? If not, do I manually have to merge all my changes from trunk into the release branch? Thanks -Thorsten

[c++0x] cpp0x branch created, config macros added

A branch has been created for C++0x related work. See svn.boost.org/svn/boost/branches/cpp0x I've added 15 macros that describe C++0x features not supported, along the lines discussed in previous threads. Since these changes will force compiles for all libraries that use Boost.Config, I'd like to be sure they are stable on the branch before merging to trunk and eventually release. Please inspect the changes and give them a try. This branch is also intended to act as a common development location for the new C++0x clock/time_duration/time_point supporting infrastructure. Specifically common_type and ratio. Comments appreciated, --Beman

Hi, Upon trying to create the new shifted_allocator class that is to be passed as a template parameter on STL containers, I got stuck in a circle or errors. It turns out there was no way to replace internal pointers used by containers with smart pointers... which is very unfortunate. There are different solution I could take but hopefully I won't need them. By trying compiling shifted_ptr_test2.cpp in the Sandbox we'll get the following errors. [date-time][threads] Integrating C++0x clocks, time points, and durations into Boost?

A slightly updated version of http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2008/n2615.html was accepted at the C++ committee meeting last week. It provides clocks, time points, and time durations for the C++0x standard library, and slightly modifies the threads interface already voted into C++0x to use these features. The only change in the version of the proposal actually voted in, IIRC, was to leave identity alone. The final document will appear in the post-meeting mailing in about two weeks. Although these clock and time features evolved from Boost Date-Time, the actual realization is quite different. So we've got a transition that has to be managed. I'd personally like to see that transition occur quickly, both because Boost.Threads depends on these features, and because I can now bring forward an improved Boost.Timer based on these features. One suggestion is for Boost to provide an implementation of the headers to be added to C++0x, and then to use those headers in the various Boost libraries that need them. But I haven't thought it out in any detail. How should we proceed? Comments? Ideas? Suggestions? --Beman
