Hello, My name is Alexandru Hulea and I am an undergraduate student at University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. I am in the third year at The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers. My email can be found at [1]. About availability, I think 40 hours / week will be enough, but I will work more if the complexity of the project will require that. The only factors which will affect my availability will be the exams which are scheduled in the first 2 weeks of June. About my educational background, I took some courses related to the projects I apply including C Programming, Data Structures, OOP, Algorithms, Parallel and Distributed Algorithms. I participated in 2 summer schools working on a project in Android and on another project in OpenGL with C++. My favourite programming language is C++. I have 3 years experience in C/C++ and I am interested in scientific work like developing libraries of C++. I like to solve algorithms exercises, to find tricky optimisations for ACM exercises or other programming contests and recently I discover the wonderful world of parallel computing. I am interested in contributing to the Boost C++ Libraries because the project contains the parts of programming I like the most: optimisation and parallel programming. I have experience in C++ 98/03, 11/14, Standard Library and I worked with Git. Unfortunately I have no experience with Boost C++ Libraries. I like to work in Visual Studio on Windows and with Sublime Text and gcc, valgrind in Ubuntu. I am familiar only with JavaDoc speaking of software documentation. About the projects, I find interesting: "Concurrent Hash Tables", "Enhanced vector and deque containers" and "Boost uBLAS a library for matrix computations". I see these projects as optimisation and syncronization problems. My biggest projects are an OpenGL game written in C++ and a client-server application written in C++ too as a homework for the Protocols course. You can find them at [2]. About the application on the projects, could you tell me how I can show my skills in this field ? I searched for a section with a projects or some tests with bugs but I didn't find it. [GSoC] [Hana] Project proposal

Dear Boost, I plan to participate to GSoC this summer with Hana as a project. Joel Falcou, my mentor of last year, kindly agreed to mentor me again this year if I make the cut. This year's project will be much more specific than last year's. Loosely speaking, the goal is to research compile-time associative data structures and to come up with a solution that's both compile-time efficient and which has a flexible interface. Have we lost a bunch of testers recently?

I'm looking at http://www.boost.org/development/tests/develop/developer/bind.html and I have the feeling that a bunch of columns that used to be there no longer are. I see no tests on OS X, for instance, no tests from Sandia at all, and very slim C++11 coverage. Is this related in some way to the cleanup of old test results perhaps?

[CrystaX.NET] [log] Test failures

Hi, There are quite a few test failures on CrystaX.NET x86 clang testsrs. Basically, there are two kinds of errors: 1. Compilation and linking succeeds but running the test fails due to missing ___tls_get_addr symbol. http://www.boost.org/development/tests/develop/developer/CrystaX-NET-apilev… 2. [gsoc15] Removing my proposal due to plagiarism concerns

About 12 days ago I'd posted my proposal here asking for feedback; however, it seems that some people have forked it (it's a GitHub repository) and then deleted their forked repositories. I am taking down the repository due to concerns of plagiarism. I've submitted it to Melange, and community members who want to view it/offer feedback can see it there. I hope the admins are mindful of this when evaluating proposals. It seems that there's already been a case of plagiarism here.

Test failures on sanitize memory - are they caused by lightweight_test?

There is a test set on develop called BenPope x86_64 Ubuntu - phoenix - adapt_function / clang-linux-3.6~msan~c14_libc++ This runs this command line for example on the Phoenix test "adapt_function": "clang++-3.6" -c -x c++ -std=c++1y -stdlib=libc++ -fsanitize=memory -O0 -fno-inline -Wall -fPIC -m64 -DBOOST_ALL_NO_LIB=1 -I".." -o "/home/ben/development/boost/test/build/develop/results/boost/bin.v2/libs/phoenix/test/adapt_function.test/clang-linux-3.6~msan~c14_libc++/debug/address-model-64/architecture-x86/debug-symbols-off/function/adapt_function.o" "../libs/phoenix/test/function/adapt_function.cpp" There are numerous failures with this test set on Phoenix and I set out to find out why. Most of the failures are like this: SUMMARY: MemorySanitizer: use-of-uninitialized-value ??:0 std::__1::basic_ostream<char, std::__1::char_traits<char> >& std::__1::__put_character_sequence<char, std::__1::char_traits<char> >(std::__1::basic_ostream<char, std::__1::char_traits<char> >&, char const*, unsigned long) Exiting I think this is coming from the boost::report_errors function defined in boost/core/lightweight_test.hpp I have put some temporary tests on to develop for Phoenix which contain only various calls to test the lightweight test. These are called aa_test0 to 3 so they will come at the top of the table. Unfortunately tests are not reporting at the moment so I don't have any results. There are also failures on the testing of Boost Core with the same test set. I thought I would report this without waiting for the results in the hope that it can be sorted out for the 1.58.0 release. John

Hi, as mentioned in another thread, there are compilation problems with the reworked none_t on MSVC when using precompiled headers. To reproduce: precompiled header stdafx.h: #pragma once #include <boost/optional.hpp> s.cpp: #include "stdafx.h" struct s { void f(boost::optional<int> const& = boost::none) {} }; On MSVC12, this results in the error message: s.cpp(3): error C3083: ' ?? A0x06d21c56': the symbol to the left of a '::' must be a type

[GSOC] Proposal template question.

Hi, Are we suppose to keep the template text in a Q/A fashion or the idea is to write it all over? I started writing the proposal doing replacement of the original text, but now I’m wondering if maybe having all the original text inlined facilitates referencing and discussing between the reviewers.
