This is the compiler I'm using: C:\Documents and Settings\pedro.lamarao\My Documents\boost\boost_HEAD\libs\seria lization\test>cl Microsoft (R) 32-bit C/C++ Optimizing Compiler Version 13.00.9466 for 80x86 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1984-2001. All rights reserved. usage: cl [ option... ] filename... [ /link linkoption... ] This is using the "Visual Studio .NET Command Prompt". I have applied a "SDK 1" patch to my installation. And I do have Visual Studio .NET 2003 installed on this machine. But trying to run the Serialization tests today I notice it detecting the vc-7_1 toolset: ...patience... ...patience... ...found 6438 targets... ...updating 4064 targets... Boost.config not recognize threading support enabled?

After my posting vast quantities of [probably worthless] example output on jamboost(a)yahoogroups.com, Vladimir Prus provided [I added the -Is] this example and suggested I post it here where the Boost.config maintainers might be able to help. OS is Fedora3 on x86. We have empirically confirmed the cross-compiler being used supports pthreads. ALL the rest of the boost libs compiled successfully (with only the occasional warning). Any interest is small type_traits addition?

Today I had the need to use function_traits on a __stdcall function. It did not work, so I wrote a quick template called remove_stdcall which removes the __stdcall qualifier from a function (if it has one) which then allows you to pass it onto the function_traits. If there is any interest in adding it to type traits I'll post my code. (only about 100 lines and most is cut n paste for arity support). Jeff

I'd like to recommend the addition of code for handling of pointers to member functions to Boost.Type_Traits. This is a simple modification, but I am unaware of the ramifications on other compilers (Perhaps someone else could shed some light on this?) "seq.cpp", line 10.14: 1540-0861 (S) Too few arguments are specified for macro "BOOST_PP_IIF_0". Empty arguments are used. I found the cause: I had TOP=all set as an environment variable. (This tells the UNIX utility 'top' my default settings.) That causes bjam to crash, which prevents installation of boost. I don't mind that bjam uses "TOP", but it shouldn't seg fault. This was not easy to track down. (I compared my environment with that of a friend who could compile boost, and changed everything one at a time. It took hours.) Probably, if somebody else has this problem, he'll never even figure out the cause. So this really needs to be changed.
