type traits Comeau 4.3 problem

As part of my homegrown testing I like to run comeau 4.3. I find this compiler helpful in sorting out very stick C++ language issues and see it as a compiler addressing a small but important niche. The serialization library currently won't build with this compiler. It fails with the error message "C:\BoostMainCVS\boost/type_traits/detail/is_mem_fun_pointer_tester.hpp", line 61: error #457: "is_mem_fun_pointer_tester" is not a function or static data member yes_type is_mem_fun_pointer_tester(R (__stdcall T::*)()); Is there any chance someone might address this? Greetings All, After many discussions over the past week or two on this topic, I've made some changes to the abstraction I proposed (more along the lines of the Wiki stuff). Hopefully tonight/this_weekend I will get around to adding thoughts to the HTML file that describes the proposal. I've had trouble replacing files in the sandbox, so I started a SourceForge project where I could post more stuff than just a zip. http://netiphany.sourceforge.net http://sourceforge.net/projects/netiphany If there is a way to "evolve" a posting to the sandbox, I would be happy to do that as well. I've noticed that the Browse CVS area is many hours behind. I guess that is by design... None the less, many updates were posted just prior to this email and I don't see them yet. Also, the CVS stats in the project page are all 0. I can�t claim that I invented string conversion, however I didn�t seen your code before you pointed it. If you look closer you will see this resembles very well with some code in boost::regex and for codecvt just look at Strustrop�s chapter 3 on locales. The name is string_cast because seems to me a good and natural name. The fact that other peoples wrote similar things and previous topics on the subject proves that something like this is needed. My code is public domain and can be used by anyone who find it useful, I can only hope it will make it to boost library. Note that is a bug I have to fix. The size of returned string is the size of the old string and this is not always true. Hi. I needed some std::string <-> std::wstring conversion and after searching web for something like this found nothing except a thread with this name here on boost. So I made one myself, maybe if you think is worth something you will include it in boost. The VTL library does it IMO correctly, allowing that if there is an operation T1 F T2, then V1 F V2 compiles.
