What is the status Property Tree Library?

I recall this library was accepted into boost: <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel/142785> but it seems it never made it into CVS? <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel/148783> With 1.34 out the door and 1.35 to follow soon ;) it would be nice to have a current status of libraries that are supposed to make it into 1.35. It's possible I have missed this but I thought I'd post just in case. Thanks, Jamie

Signals and slots requiring linkage

Will boost signals and slots be moved to header files in the future? Isn't it a policy to keep libraries in header files, if possible, or is it up to the library authors? In http://lists.boost.org/Archives/boost/2003/08/50815.php, the possibility of adding a macro to boost/config.hpp, which basically would result in including .cpp-files from headers, is mentioned. Are there any plans of adding such a macro or is it a bad idea? Best Regards, Johan Torp

I am introducing boost in a software project and I thought we'd start out by using the header-only libraries, that's all. Well, I also had problems compiling boost on my home computer. If the code size increase really is dramatic I understand your position, otherwise it would be nice to let the users choose. If there is a demand for it, that is. I suppose it would mess up the code a bit too, wouldn't it? Has any other projects done it? Johan

Any interest in boost.xmpp library ?

Hi, Efforts are going on for boost asio based libraries for different protocols. It will be intersting to have a XMPP library in Boost. I have done some experiments with existing xmpp libraries, include libjingle-4.0 from Google. Moreover I have analyzed design issues involved in XMPP. I will like to start the project by developing "chat model" for xmpp. Alongwith that, I will keep on developing codes for jid, roster, message buffer etc. Some of the key things will be:- 1. Message dispatch --- this I will address using spirit's actor concept. 2. Since sequence in which messages are delivered is vital here, so we need to have a xmpp scheduler. 3. Seamless integration of different application to basic framework, like integration of chat/audio/video application to basic framework. This in turn means, development of the idea of basic framework--- like what will be its parts, how to attach applications to it, etc. I will like to set up emphasis on developing xmpp library which can be used for many applications. I've opened Trac ticket #971 against the problem discussed in previous email under this subject line. I've also developed a patch for it which I've attached to that ticket. Note that I think this subsumes ticket #953. I've added a note to that effect. Hopefully this can be included in the 1.34.1 release.
