Hi, In boost 1.33.1, I can compile static libraries with -fPIC using command: bjam -j4 --prefix=/usr "-sBUILD=release <runtime-link>static <cxxflags>-fPIC" --with-serialization --with-iostreams install but -s no longer works for bjam/cvs. Can anyone show me the equivalence of the above command? Review of the Accumulators Library

• What is your evaluation of the design? Very large number of new ideas presented in this library. I miss the old days where I would just pass a simple array into a function and get a result. Now, it seems that I have to learn a whole new statistical framework to do what used to be relatively simple. I think that the design will be intimidating to many users. That being said, I always like Eric Neibler's libraries. His designs are always first-rate and invariably, they do begin to grow on you. I have forced myself to study the designs of the latest boost libraries, this one included. Each has forced a whole now vocabulary on me and it is getting a little tiresome. • What is your evaluation of the implementation? Very creative and full of ideas that would take months for me to fully digest. It meets my own personal criteria for what makes a good boost library. • What is your evaluation of the documentation? Assumes that you have a statistics background and comfortable with the advanced c++. Similar to my review of the GIL graphics library, the documentation would benefit from a more thorough and gentle "getting started" document. • What is your evaluation of the potential usefulness of the library? The C++ could community definitely benefit from mathematical frameworks like this. I wonder if it might be a little bit ahead of its time. • Did you try to use the library? With what compiler? Did you have any problems? All examples compiled without any problems on the latest version Ubuntu Linux. • How much effort did you put into your evaluation? A glance? A quick reading? In-depth study? 4 hours • Are you knowledgeable about the problem domain? Yes And finally, every review should answer this question: • Do you think the library should be accepted as a Boost library? I wish I had time to contribute more to the discussion and give more meaningful feedback. I will be using this library and get alot more experience with it in the coming months. The scope of this framework is very large. I would hope and expect that as the best c++ mathematicians get a chance to work with this library, it will continue to grow and improve. [1.34.0] intel 9.0 dll linking

I've looked more into the errors that we get for all intel 9.0 DLL links. Boost.Build passes -Wl,-h option to the compiler, which is supposed to cause it to pass -h to the linker. This behaviour was there since the very first version of intel-linux.jam. For some reason, that does not work with intel 9.0, the error we get is: IPO link: Warning unknown option '-h'. IPO link: can not find "libboost_regex-il90-d-1_34.so.1.34.0" icpc: error: problem during multi-file optimization compilation (code 1) I've checked in the attached, to make intel-linux.jam use -soname. I have verified the change does not break intel 8.0, but don't have 9.0 anywhere to test. 1. Martin, can you re-run your intel tests? It might be good to run just one of the failing tests by hand to verify that the fix worked, to avoid spending resources on the full test run. 2. Anybody knows what's causing this error in the first place? 3. In case my fix does not work, anybody knows how to disable IPO completely? Thanks, Volodya

FYI, I noted that JustSoftwareSolutions-debug has quite a number of serialization failures on borland, apparently due to Spirit version. Since the same toolsets are present in speedsnail's output, are are more up-to-date, I've removed JustSoftwareSolutions-debug so that not to confuse overall results. Anthony, if you'll want to re-run tests, would you please veryfy that serialization tests are healthy before sending the results? For example, you can build serialization tests manually, and then clean "bin.v2" dir and then run regression.py. Thanks, Volodya

Basically, one line needs to be deleted. Unfortunately, you can't just delete the check on __QNXNTO__ being defined, because then one of the other defines will still try to do a using. Hello, I think there's a typo at section "Traits classes for tuple element types" in the advanced features page of Boost.Tuple docs; where it reads: "1. access_traits<T>::type maps T to the return type of the non-const access functions ..." looks like it should be: "1. access_traits<T>::non_const_type..."
