BOOST_BUILD_V1 so you can retrieve it, and then remove it from the CVS
HEAD.
If you need Boost.Build v1, you'll be able to get back to the current

Hi -
I am having problems porting some boost::interprocess code from Win32 to Linux
(rhel4). I am using boost-1.55.
Here's the setup: I need to find if there is an existing instance of the
process already running. When the process starts up, it checks the shared
memory for a bIsProcessingRunning flag. If it is true, the process dumps some
data into the shared memory and then exits. If not true, then the process
starts up normally and then checks the shared memory for any updates. The
class I use to wrap the boost::interprocess is below.
Note: I needed the shared memory location to only be initialized the first
time it was created so the only way I saw how to do it was through the src
code was to use the initialization_func_t().
This approach works fine on Win32 but on Linux, it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or hints.

I have a common function to output dates to sql strings. It works like this:

Now I need to put dates into an excel spreadsheet which uses a date formatted
as a date duration. This can't be expressed via the formatters so I created my
own facet but discovered some strange things:
1. The "put" function of the date_facet calls "do_put_tm" instead of
just "do_put" like standard facets.
2. The virtual "do_put_tm" function takes a struct tm instead of a date
argument. Unfortunatly this means extra work.
My code now looks like this:

Can I recommend that the date_facet is changed so that
"put" calls "do_put" which converts to a struct tm and calls a "do_put_tm"
function.
And another question:
I asked a long time ago why the default formatting for dates is "2006-Nov-24"
instead of the current locale formatting. Don't remember the answer now but I
had a look in the TR2 proposal for date_time and saw that it remains that way.
Why should something in a standard don't follow the current locale?

Hello,
I have been using boost for quite a while, and I was wondering if
there is any interest (or ongoing development) in a numerical
quadrature library. I have seen some old discussions on the mailing
lists archive, but couldn't tell wether something was still in the
works.
I have coded the embryo of such a template library (for my personal
use) which basically works taking a unary_function and allows the
user (me in that case) to choose between different integration
algorithms (composite trapezoidal, simpson and romberg at the
moment). Performance is good (faster than the kind of implementation
you get from Numerical Recipes in C thanks to good inlining).
I also extended this to work on discrete data sets (such as a
vector<double> obtained from measurements etc...) rather than just
function with analytical expressions. 2D integration of
binary_function's can the previous 1D algorithms using functional's
binder1st, but I haven't done much in that direction to potentially
improve things.
I implemented two backbone classes to do the work but I am still
wondering what the "consensus" calling convention on that kind of
library could be (the choice of using a class was simply to be able
to go back on a previously integrated function and ask for a bit more
precision without having to compute points twice).
