Well I'll put it this way. Let's say you have two library interface
designs. The first design, A, is the hypothetically perfect library
interface. The second design, B, is a tangible, real, albeit less
than perfect design. The goal of course is to get B as close as
possible to A. Now would it be easier to hack away at B or start
from scratch with a new design called C? I decided to take the
latter approach.
Compare the library interface of Quan to my proposed design. I

That's a start but it's not a straight jacket. In addition to
seperating the concept of a 'quantity' from the concept of a
'measure', I wanted to allow the user to define dimensions and
units in a free-form manner using a type sequence of base
dimensions and units. The user can list the dimensions and
units of the sequence in any order.

Like I said, it's a preview. I made it available in order to
get comments and feedback regarding the design of the interface.
It's not even close to being ready for real use.

Hmm - I would find it useful if defer_point::defer would return an
future which could be used to transfer results and/or exceptions back to
the caller.

For my thesis work I wrote a DSL framework based on fusion-2. It fulfills a
similar purpose like boost::xpressive's proto. Compared to proto, the framework
has a rule system, allowing the user define the language rules of a domain.
Is there any interest in a library like that?
Some additional information:
All operators defined by the framework verify the correctness of expressions
querying the domain rules the expression parameters belong to, using EnableIf.
Foreign types can be integrated into a domain by specifing adaptation rules.
The framework separates operators (or DSL functions) from language rules.
Consequently rules may
introduces this layer of indirection to achieve a consistent
definition of language rules.
Expressions have a varying set of attributes stored in a fusion-2 map, e.g.
the expressions domain is identified by an attribute inside that map. The
set of attributes is controlled by the domain rules. Apart from returning the
validity of expressions, rules also have to provide a result type. Hence the
rule code tends to grow complex, with an increasing amount of attributes.
The library lacks a proper documentation, and requires some interface changes
to simplify attribute update operations. Before working on that, I wanted to see
if there is interest at all.
I used the framework to implement a matrix library with a signle frontend and
multiple backends, that could be picked and combined on a by expression basis.

final_map is m_item<*2*, int, char, m_mask<int, my_map> >
This overwrites pair<short, double>. It ought to be
m_item<*3*, int, char, m_mask<int, my_map> >
Also, when insert is passed a key that is already present the old value
is still present in addition to the new value.
