[git][property_tree] Conversion Looks Good, Lots of Redundant Branches

Reviewed the PropertyTree git history. Apart from the existence of all these redundant branches it looks good. Is there a way to modify the conversion script so that the branch commit itself doesn't show up if there are no follow-ups? Not a big thing, I can easily kill those branches afterwards, but they look so useless. Sebastian

[Please do not mail me a copy of your followup] OK, we've already established that the 'Experimenting with Modular Boost' instructions are woefully stale. Can someone please briefly describe what submodules I need to manually add just to get something bootstrapped? [thread] SEVERE bug on packaged_task constructor in C++11 mode.

Hi, There is a severe bug in packaged_task constructor when compiling in C++11 mode and giving a copyable functor as parameter, as reported in https://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/8596. I believe that this is not a regression, this have never worked. Until I find a fix, the packaged_task could be used only with free functions and with movable functors when compiling in C++11 mode. Fortunately there is no regression on C++98 compilers (at least not identified yet). Sorry for the disagreement, Vicente

There are several bugs which need to be fixed and one challenging feature request (to implement move semantics). [mpl] some msvc-11.0 tests failing on release branch

I have noticed 3 tests of mpl for msvc-11.0 failing on the release branch but succeeding on the trunk. So some change must have been made between the trunk and the release branch to cause this failure. These are affecting 'tti' and I imagine other libraries that depends on mpl. The failures are the 'contains', 'equal', and 'lambda' tests. I am not seeing any failures for msvc-8.0, 9.0, or 10.0 and mpl on the release branch. [Fusion] another nil issue

I see there was work about 5 months ago to avoid the Obj-C++ nameclash with nil in Boost.Fusion: https://github.com/boostorg/fusion/commit/12d2898287a124ff4b398fd3fff512b6f… Thanks for that as there are alot of use using boost in this scenario. However, I have found another couple nameclashes that prevented me from linking against Boost.Log in the latest trunk on OS X with clang, when trying this sample code: http://boost-sandbox.sourceforge.net/libs/log/example/doc/tutorial_trivial_… Attached is the changeset I needed to make to build. Does this seem acceptable to the maintainers? Best, Rich

[MPL] Bug with default lambda expressions?

Hi, Some higher order algorithms in the MPL have a default for the lambda expression they accept. A good example is `boost::mpl::equal`: template <typename S1, typename S2, typename Pred = is_same<_, _> > struct equal; This works fine most of the time, but I was recently bitten by the following: template <typename VectorOfVectors, typename Vector> struct find_vector : find_if< VectorOfVectors, equal<Vector, _1> > { }; typedef find_vector< vector< vector<int, int>, vector<char, char> >, vector<char, char> >::type ThisWillBreak; What happens here is that the `equal<Vector, _1>` expression inside `find_vector` really is `equal<Vector, _1, is_same<_1, _2> >` because of the default value for the predicate to `equal`. When the lambda is evaluated, the placholders inside the inner `is_same<_1, _2>` expression are replaced too, which yields unexpected results. Using template <typename S1, typename S2, typename Pred = typename lambda<is_same<_, _> >::type> struct equal; or equivalently template <typename S1, typename S2, typename Pred = quote2<is_same> > struct equal; fixes the issue. Also note that all of the unit tests of the MPL still pass with these changes. Is the current behavior intended, or should I submit a patch? Regards, Louis Dionne
