
Before we mire in the weeds about what is or isn't harmful to Boost's reputation, we should wait for actual complaints to come in. A core tenet of Boost is unrestricted author freedom. I've seen people in multiple cases talk about not upgrading Boost because of breaking changes in Asio, so I don't think this results in as much damage as is being purported here. Right now the only people mad about the X3 change are just Boost authors. Also keep in mind, we even have trouble shilling new libraries on reddit because the reputation of our review process is greatly damaged. So if you wanna talk about reputation, there's a lot of other aspects to it than one niche library that likely doesn't have many production users to begin with. - Christian
